How to make a claim

As soon as you become aware of a possible claim under the policy you should firstly contact PFP by calling 0345 307 1177 and ask to make a claim or email claims@pfp.uk.com.

You will need to supply your UKALA membership number. PFP will check this number with UKALA to ensure that you are a current and fully paid up member of UKALA. Once the membership information has been accepted by PFP you will be sent a claim form to complete and return to PFP as soon as possible. Please follow all advice provided by the claims team exactly as requested and to the time scales advised.

In the event that a claim can be made under the policy, PFP will appoint and approve the consultant conducting any work on the insured events. No work on the claim should proceed until the consultant is appointed.

Any advice that you are given over the phone by the consultant should be followed exactly and to the time scales advised to you. Failure to do this may render any future claim invalid as you may prejudice the insurers’ position.

Unannounced HMRC visits “Out of hours” and Legal helpline

The 24-hour client legal helpline service is included in the above scheme free of charge.

HMRC has the power to make unannounced visits to any business. Sometimes these visits can be late at night. Members have access to a free helpline offering expert advice on how to deal with the situation ‘there and then’ should you receive an unannounced visit from HMRC.

This part of the service is administered by Irwin Mitchell and enables members to seek telephone legal advice 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on any commercial legal problems, from contract matters, landlord and tenant or property queries through to handling employment or health and safety matters. To use the service, simply telephone the dedicated telephone line on 01455 255269 quoting the unique reference: 70263.
